Welcome to Everglades Academy

At Everglades Academy our philosophy is that early childhood should be a time of fun, warmth, security, exploration and discovery. Children are seen as individuals with a variety of developmental abilities, needs and interests, as well as different learning styles. Our school strives to encourage these qualities by providing a secure, nurturing environment for each child in our care.

Our Curriculum "The Creative Curriculum®"

How it works

The Creative Curriculum® for Preschool is a comprehensive collection of knowledge-building and daily practice resources that explains the “what,” “why,” and “how” of teaching.

Nationally known for its forward-thinking, rigorously researched model, The Creative Curriculum® has been trusted for decades by early childhood educators in classrooms across the country. It focuses on meeting the needs of individual children, while honoring and respecting the role that teachers play in making learning engaging and meaningful for every child.

The Creative Curriculum® for Preschool provides teachers with the content and tools needed to encourage and support every type of learner and address all the important areas of learning.

The Creative Curriculum for Preschool is based on 38 objectives for development and learning. These objectives are fully aligned with the Head Start Child Development and Early Learning Framework and state early learning standards, and integrated into each and every one of the comprehensive collection of resources that makes up the curriculum.

How curriculum and assessment are linked

Covering all important areas of children’s development and learning—social–emotional, physical, language, cognitive, literacy, math, science and technology, social studies, and the arts, as well as English-language acquisition— The Creative Curriculum’s objectives include predictors of school success and are based on school readiness standards. So throughout the early childhood learning experience, children are being prepared in all the ways that matter for later success in school.

"Our Principles are based on":

Well, for one i can say this school has done a lot for my girls and I. I am a single mom with 2 little girls and this school has had my back and become like a family to my girls and I. When i came to this school my girls were behind on where they were supposed to be. My oldest was afraid to go to a "new school" and my youngest was losing her hearing and known as a "misbehaved child" at her old school. But thanks to Ms. Emily and Ms. Tiana my girls have overcome their fears. Also thanks to these amazing teachers my youngest behaves and is getting up to their "level" of age group learning and state standards.
Now that I am graduating thanks to their encouragement and them telling me that I can do it and not to worry about my kids. I was afraid to leave them for such long hours but thanks to the after school teachers and Ms. Julie my girls are well taken care of and even spoiled by the teachers and older kids

Everglades Academy Preschool has been the best choice we made for our children. The teachers exemplify true love, compassion, understanding and teaching skills of the highest caliber. I have a VPK grad class 2014-15 and the newest addition to the toddler room that joined the family at 4 mo. I feel very comfortable leaving my baby here. She is very happy with both her teachers and piers. I can tell from the moment her face lights and up when pulling into the parking lot! There isn't much you'd expect your LO to learn in an infant class room, but I was shown otherwise down to walking : ) I would highly recommend this school for any child's first steps to greatness.

When it was time for my oldest daughter to start attending school, my wife and I visited a lot of them in our area to find the right one. We knew what we wanted: a clean environment with a structured curriculum of fun activities delivered by competent & caring teachers. After touring many potential institutions, we were losing hope of ever finding a school that would meet our expectations. Our final stop changed all that. Everglades Academy was a breath of fresh air and after our tour was over, my wife and I knew this was the place for us. Now, over a year later, we are more than satisfied. Both of my daughters attend regularly and wake up every day excited to go to school.
